Exodus is a new piece written for singers, choir and orchestra. Music by Tebogo Monnakgotla and libretto by Athena Farrokhzad. A work in progress where the first 15 minutes debuted the end of march. Kubkub did the video design for the stage production at Folkoperan/Stockholm and Blå Huset/Tensta.

Exodus is about heritage passed on from mother to daughter. When migrants are forced to leave their home country they can bring only very few things with them.  How do the daughters react to these small pieces of a country they often do not even remember. They are given a memory of which they have no recollection. What happens when they renounce it.

Working closely with director Saga Gärde the minimalist video set design was developed beforehand.
We worked with two basic forms.

The line and the box.

The line which separates us from each other, which separates the new county from the old and memories from the present.

The box that contains our memories they look alike on the outside but noone really knows whats inside someone elses box.
